This article in today's Chronicle may interest and even help to some of you . Their are also sub sections to the main article and maybe clicking on the pictures will bring them up. I just read the newspaper version. I considered it from the horses mouth and detailed. And i find it ominous as anti biotic have been around in the pharmaceutical form since the 1940's and as this author points out the bacteria has been functioning for 3.5 billion years. And with us having a history of about 2 million years we must look to be tender and tasty to the bacteria. And i believe he described bacteria as smarter than us. But then what isn't since few forms of life also eat themselves. My concern is we are also going into climate change which means higher ambient temperatures which virus and bacteria can find to their advantage. Lovelock points out climate change effects are not just limited to the weather. So for those who might think the pharmaceutical companies have or will have a product and soon to combat these new viruses this article doesnt seem to find this to be the case. The two nurses who i have talked with are pessimistic about successfully treating MRSA let alone the even more advanced forms of the virus. The nurse from England with allot of training in Asia has gone back to herbs and allot of sanitation.
